Updates, apologies, promises, and some exciting new (non-tNT) content coming very soon
Leon Egan:
Hi everyone, Leon here with a few updates about this feed.
First of all, while I’ve talked about it on social media, I don’t think I’ve actually mentioned on here yet, so hi, my name is Leon now! All future episodes of Tell No Tales will be credited with my new name, and I… might get around to changing the old episodes, time dependent.
Second of all, speaking of new episodes, I can only apologise for the length of the break I’ve taken for season two. It really was only supposed to be a few weeks, and now almost a year later I still don’t have a release date set in stone for the next episode. But I can assure you it is STILL being worked on. Between workload and mental health, my ability to sound design is inconsistent, so I wanna make sure I have as much as possible prepared to avoid this happening again. But I can’t stress enough that more Tell No Tales is coming, and it hasn’t been abandoned.
Finally, while it won’t be Tell No Tales, there will be some new content on this feed very soon. For those of you who haven’t seen on my social media, my new book Listen Closely is coming out on the 3rd July, and is a YA rom com in which the two main characters bond over a shared love of audio drama.
There are a lot of real audio dramas name dropped in this book, but two of the main characters also have two shows of their own, which are of course imagined, based off some of my favourite common audio drama tropes. I’ve been so incredibly lucky to get Cloud Quinn and Maggie Bain, the two fantastic narrators for the Listen Closely audiobook, on board to produce pilot episodes for each of our character’s shows.
The first pilot, The Night Market, will be on this feed in the next day or so. This is a show that follows a merchant at a mysteriously liminal night market, showing off their strange and sentimental wares. Think Monstrous Agonies meets Mistholme Museum.
The second, Unfathomable Depths, will follow shortly after, and is a deep sea exploration gentle horror, exploring themes of isolation and hope. Think Wolf 359 if it was… underwater.
I’m so excited to share these snippets into Listen Closely’s characters, and how their personalities shine through in their shows.
If you’re interested in finding out more about the book, there’ll be a link in the show notes, and if you’re based anywhere near Liverpool or London, we’ve also got some events coming up that I’ll link to as well.
In the meantime, thank you so much for your patience, it really means a lot, and let me say again that this show is too important to me to forget about. You will be hearing more from Tell No Tales soon. Thank you for listening, and remember: the dead don’t bite
